"God will not give you more than you can bear" is a statement often thrown around in all kinds of situations that people find themselves. From mourning the loss of a loved one to job loss or varying types of trauma, this statement (often with good intention) is plastered across the board. Fitting word as usual. Thanks Rev TC. Context is important. I know I have used that aspect of the verse seemingly out of context. I have had instances where persons are going through a time of testing and the temptation is to give up and it this reminder that we can bear the testing keeps the person going. So I will refrain from saying it even though it has helped in motivating me to keep pressing on. Testing is different from temptation Also, someone may not wish to hear "count it all joy...
